We in the Department of Pharmacology are pleased to present to third-year students everything related to the pharmacology curriculum and what a doctor needs in this field throughout the academic year. Additionally, we are happy to share with you the department's vision, mission, and goals.

Description

The Department of Pharmacology was established along with the college in the academic year 2015-2016. The department is responsible for teaching general and clinical pharmacology, as well as conducting related laboratory sessions for third-year medical students. Additionally, the department collaborates with the Colleges of Dentistry and Medical Technology at the university.

Vision

Achieving advancement and proficiency in the field of pharmacology both locally and internationally, as well as contributing effectively to scientific research in order to provide outstanding medical services to the community.

Mission

The department's mission aligns with other departments in the college in preparing successful and proficient doctors in pharmacology and enhancing medical services for individuals in the community. This is achieved through active participation in research and seminars related to pharmacology and other interdisciplinary fields, ensuring quality education in pharmacology and medical treatments for medical and postgraduate students by developing innovative scientific methods.

Goals

Enabling the student to understand medications, their classifications, and their uses in practical and clinical settings in the hospital, as well as their interactions with each other and with certain foods. This includes integrating pharmacology with other scientific departments in the advanced years. Additionally, students will learn about important clinical conditions, how to treat them, prescribe the appropriate medication, avoid possible side effects, and select the most suitable drug for each case.
